It's a fun effect and Lawn Fawn stamps work really well.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><meta equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8"><br /></div><div><meta charset="utf-8"><div>I created the card for the Johnson Family who just had us over to their house for dinner. It was a great time with great people - and Carolyn was so sweet to make a special low fat, low carb dinner since she knows I am on Weight Watchers. It was so sweet of her to go that extra mile to make sure I could eat with everyone and still feel like I am doing the diet. She's a great gal!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><meta equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8"><br /></div><div>We took their son Calvin a cash box with play money, coins and a cash machine which he really seemed to enjoy. We also took the dog a rawhide and I brought a low fat version of Funfetti Cake Dip with animal crackers for dessert. It went over very well! I also introduced everyone to Pintrest, my new obsession and Chuck also installed the birthday light timer, which I know they will love having!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><meta equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8"><br /></div><div>Overall, great time with great friends! I flipped the box lantern over to create a container and then used flipped tassels as flowers/plants. (I see using the box lantern as a paper bag at some point too.) The sentiment is from On The Mend and I made a background of it on some green Paper Tray Ink cardstock. The card is trimmed to be a little more square than a traditional card, but not a true square.</div><div><br /></div><div>I've been entering their challenges for awhile, so an honorable mention feels great. I thought I would use this robot stamp from Hero Arts and play with pink, grey and black. I used the spun sugar pink from Distress Inks in order to color the robot, the 1s and 0s, and actually the white ribbon as well. (The chart on the wall is something I started but have not kept up with. I would stamp the color of any new ink pads on this master sheet and then hang it on the wall so I could match up the color I want with the ink pad name. Best laid plans...) The blue/white storage envelope is for index cards. I've started using index cards of various sizes to practice techniques - that way I can save them and refer to them later. On Friday night we went to see the musical Movin Out. It was the music of Billy Joel and the choreography of Twyla Tharp. It was neat, very different, no dialog.<br /><br />Then on Saturday I did projects (posts soon) AND took a 3 hour nap with the cats, which was super nice to do.<br /><br />Then on Sunday was linner with the ladies - Ann, Jackie and Germaine. Hours can pass when we are together gabbing! It was great to see them.<br /><br />Today was back to work and there is always a lot to do. It looks like there are some immanent changes about to take place, and that is adding some extra stress on my shoulders. So I left on time to get home and clean and crafts to take my mind off of it! I also watched one episode of House Hunters where the older woman wants to move a hippie commune and eat fresh veg with her neighbors in the community house. I made some joke about how the herpes come free with the mortgage. I am excited about warm weather and have waiting for it for so long, but now when will I have time for my paper crafts? I bought a new white gel pen last night, but it wasn't the brand I really wanted and so I was no surprised when I tested it at home and am not thrilled with the results. I am now on the hunt for the perfect white pen!<br /><br />We had to take Martha to the vet this morning for what we thought were her anal glads. Turns out she has a growth near her anus that we will now need to watch and monitor. (She also had her anal glads squeezed, so it wasn't a worthless trip.) The vet is funny and awesome and loves our dogs, and also acknowledges that we love our dogs, so it is nice to see him again. When we got home there was a loose dog running around and it caused some tension on the block between "us" who do a good job of keeping the dogs in the yard or on a leash, and "those" who don't. I know my dogs have gotten loose before accidentally, but there is one family that seems to let their dog run around freely and it can be a hazard for the rest of us.<br /><br />Chuck is working on the yard today. He is planting hops for his beer hobby.
